Palookaphils

Five hundred plaintiffs will be awarded 600 million in L.A. County alone in a recent Catholic Church sexual abuse settlement.

I am a Philly Catholic product and I absorbed more abuse than any other single person I ever saw. But all mine were shots to the head and both nuns and priests tried psychological abuse but I had way too many defense mechanisms to care what they said but also I just never contemplated balling up my fist and flattening one of those frustrated celebant celebrants.

This sexual abuse phenomena was so rampant for a period of time and with all the shots I took I just never saw it or heard about it I guess because Wise guys don’t make good sex abuse victims-I know I wouldn't have- but why guys?

Modern gay men say that this scandal reflects badly on them because these priests were not gay simply perverts and no law abiding heterosexual is going to say “if you going to abuse someone at least make it the opposite sex” but that is a legitimate although sick supposition.

And I was force feed so much religious dogma and bought into it for a time “making mojo crosses on my palms during the blessing before basketball games” but really all people with religious titles are just a bit of the posers I think. No one speaks to god unless we all do.

Black Comedian Eddie Griffin joked that Rodney King was awarded 37 million dollars, a million for every blow. “I driving 300 miles per hour in a Volkswagen through a white neighborhood screaming, “Fuck yaw mother fuckers. Whip my ass and give me my cash.”

Would I cop to two years of sexual abuse at the feet of father Nelson for a million dollars in payout and the answer is no but I’ll admit to taking more shots than Marvis Frazier but the church doesn't payoff off on that stuff not even with second collection funds

FReddog,

Reading your email "lead-in", where did you ever get the idea there's such a thing as a "heaven contract"? And by the way, you can be assured that after you die there will be no "second run" or any opportunity to correct anything.

All those years in Catholic school and they never taught you that when you die it's a forever thing? Christianity is based on the reality that we only get one chance at human life, and that an abiding faith in Jesus Christ as Lord is our only ticket to heaven at the end of the human journey.

I know, I know, you're going to tell me that any God that would be that exclusionary is not the kind of God you could worship. Too bad. Because just like the ref in all the different games you've played, it is His game and He makes all the rules whether you like 'em or not.

One of these days (and it's always sooner than we think) the clock in your game is going to run down, and to your surprise you're going to learn that the points you think you scored don't count for a thing.

The good news is that while you're breathing you still have time to read the Rule Book, change your game plan, and win the biggest game of life. Forget religion - it's the greatest deception on earth. Instead, simply call on the Lord Jesus Christ to save your sorry soul, and you'll be amazed at what He shows you.

Amen

Hello Jesus? Interested in saving my sorry soul? No? Did you just say no? Where did I get your number? From my heart? What do you mean that sounds stupid? Click

Is there only one anonymous or is this plagiarism? The entire posting is rife with contradictions. How do you "forget religion" when you propose Christianity; "He makes all the rules,.." etc, Remember the Parable of the Good Samaritan, doesn't seem exclusionary to me. And then there's the matter of timing, who wrote what when and where were the traditions carried on for those empty centuries after Christ's death. Might be wise to consult a Biblical Scholar such as Bishop Spong who actually knows what he's talking about.

Is your Bishop Spong any relation to Spong Bob?

You are kidding me that in matters of faith anyone knows more than anyone else?
He? Who he? Maybe she?

And why can't believers respect those who don't buy into it. One can't believe what one doesn't believe which is how martyers came about.
Say it ain't so". "I can't for I believe it is so."
So it ain't so or you will be pummeled with rocks."
Taking a stoning because you won't even fake what you don't believe just to excape the moment now there is some serious faith which I admire in people unless they are heading towards me strapped with dynamite or is that dy-no-mite?
Pax Dominoes.

Freddog,

Of course the truth of Christianity sounds stupid. God intended it to "stupify" human intellectuals, or anyone else believing they can figure it out on their own. Jesus made it clear that His kingdom is not accessible to those who believe they are able to reason, pay, or earn their way in. This is not my opinion, or that of any other man. It is God's revelation to mankind through His Holy Word the Bible (Rule Book?)

You can choose to believe it or not. God doesn't make you prescribe to it, but ultimately does hold all of mankind accountable to it. Consequently, anyone that ends up in Hell goes there by choice. And by the way, real Christians don't force-feed anything to anybody. Unfortunately, this is a premise not understood by the Catholic Church, or by some well-meaning but wrong Protestant denominations. Jesus never forced anything on anyone, nor does anyone who truly knows Him.

Again, if you would read the Book you would know this. Failure to read the assignment is never an excuse - right Mr. Frederick?

A Loving Friend

(P.S. If you would stop making references to religion and faith in your posts I could stop commenting.)

Freddog,

You're exactly correct regarding Christian martyrs. It's one of the few aspects of Christianity that's logical to the average man. Why would anybody suffer and die for anything they're not absolutely certain about?

For what or whom would you definitely suffer and die? Most answer with the name or names of loved ones. But Christian martyrs died for their belief in a dead man - or did they? No, they died (and continue to die) because they know beyond a shadow of a doubt that the TRUTH of everlasting life in heaven with God is significantly more important than anything they can gain on earth.

But like I stated in a previous comment, all of this is nonsensical to you without a personal relationship with Jesus Christ. Why? Because without faith in Jesus the wisdom of the universe through God the Holy Spirit is not available to you. You can call it exclusionary, or benevolence which depends on your perspective. How many times have you saved a child from disaster only to be considered "inconsiderate" or "over-bearing"? The few that have returned to thank you later in life are an example of what you will experience when you arrive at heaven and realize that you are only there because of a Man you disdained (or at least for whom you showed little respect) much of your life.

The gift of eternal life in heaven with God is just that - a free gift. But like any free gift the recipient has to first accept it to enjoy it. God wants you to accept the free gift, and stop trying to determine how you deserve it. You don't (none of us do) but that's why it is such a spectactular gift. Your only responsibility in the transaction is to accept that the gift was paid for by God's Son at a great price. Accept the gift, man, while you still can.

I never suggested that the power of anyone's faith was "stupid" and in fact I marveled that so many Psychology texts did not include "faith" and faith based religion" for study as a means for so many to make sense of the randomness of life itself.
But where does that faith for some "Jump to Jesus" for others. I grew up bowing my head and genuflecting-an alter boy and a believer in the power of good works by flash and blood-even flesh and blood-people but alas those carrying the message were corrupted beyond my comprehension and that goes for all religions which leads me to believe that Man just needs to shut up about it all.
Perhaps that is the word of the Lord

My Good Freddog,

Now you're talkin'! You're definitely correct that the words of men are absolutely meaningless relative to the Word of God.

You've experienced man's corruption of the Christian faith, are you ready for the truth? It's a free gift, but you still have to accept it. No one - not even God - will make you take it.

As was done for me, I offer to help you find it (the truth) if and when you're ready.

Enter through the narrow gate; for the gate is wide and the way is broad
that leads to destruction, and there are many who enter through it.

For the gate is small and the way is narrow that leads to life, and there are
few who find it.

Matthew 7:13-14

The Messenger

I think I ain't entering through no narrow gate sideways or otherways.
Yes I am silly but I do appreciate your sincerity

Freddog,

"Appreciating my sincerity" isn't going to keep you out of hell. This is the most important subject you'll EVER consider, so for your own sake please don't make light of it.

If you died today, do you KNOW where you'd be tomorrow? One of two places. One is eternal paradise, and the other eternal torment. C'mon Freddog, you're smarter than to chance the latter.

Do you think the "Master Planner" as you refer to Him would create us in His image and then leave us alone? What kind of God would that be?

So you say, "Yeah, but if God is the God you say He is, then why doesn't He reveal Himself and settle the thing once and for all?"

And God says:

"For My thoughts are not your thoughts,
Nor are your ways My ways," declares the LORD.
"For as the heavens are higher than the earth,
So are My ways higher than your ways
And My thoughts than your thoughts.

Isaiah 55:8-9

You can write about religious things, world injustice, mid-life crisis, and all the other subjects that deceive you into thinking you're making a contribution on some level. However, the bottom line is that God will have the final word, and you won't - it's that simple.

God wants you (and your family) with Him for eternity, but He will not force anyone to come to Him. I feel strongly that He is drawing you to Him, but you're resisting. Why make it more difficult than it needs to be? Jesus doesn't care what you've done, what you think, or that you've even scorned Him. He knows your depravity better than you, yet He still died for you.

It's time to come home, brother.
